ABOUT NATE

Nate is a sports journalist fine tuning his skill set at the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication at Arizona State. He is also a beat reporter for Walter Cronkite Sports Network and DNVR covering the Colorado Rockies, a podcast host and broadcaster for Blaze Radio and a broadcaster for ESPN+.

Before college, his high school program, Carlsbad High School Television (CHS-TV), helped develop his love for live broadcasts and taught him on-air presence, camera operation, media writing and video editing. CHS-TV competed against hundreds of schools in the Student Television Network (STN) National Convention. They earned the STN Award of Excellence for Daily Live Broadcast four times and The National Pacemaker Award twice during Nate's tenure.

After graduating, Nate attended the Honors College and played Division I baseball at Towson University. He majored in mass communications (journalism track), and minored in electronic media & film. He interned at Towson Sports Network (TSN), a platform that creates a wide variety of content including live streams of the school's sports games. His internship at TSN furthered his knowledge in the sports media field and helped him make new connections.

He transferred to Palomar College due to financial reasons, where he played baseball and graduated with an Associate’s Degree in digital broadcast arts in Spring 2022. That summer, he shadowed for 97.3 FM The Fan at Audacy in San Diego. On-air talents equipped him with knowledge regarding live radio show production. Specifically, broadcast writing, audio editing and show-producing.

Nate graduated from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo with a Bachelor of Science in journalism. As an undergraduate, he pioneered the director of sports video and social media position at Mustang News, broadcasted games for San Luis Obispo High School athletics and the San Luis Obispo Blues on YouTube, created and hosted a live sports talk show on KCPR. 91.3 FM and was the director of social media for the NCAA Division I baseball team at Cal Poly.
